Working at SellThat means helping informal traders build simple online stores that fit real trading conditions in South Africa. Our team supports shop owners with product uploads, pricing pages, WhatsApp orders, payments and delivery info.

What working here looks like

We work with traders who need practical help, not complicated systems. That means clear guidance, neat store content, careful setup and steady support for people running spaza shops, home businesses and market stalls across Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria and Gqeberha.

The pace is hands-on and the work is varied. One day you may be helping with product photos and price lists, the next you may be checking a catalogue rebuild or showing a client how to manage orders on a phone. It suits people who are patient, organised and comfortable speaking plainly.

Roles we hire for

We bring in people for client-facing and back-office work across store setup, support and training. The team needs practical problem-solvers who can handle small details without losing sight of the bigger picture.

  • Client support and store setup
  • Product upload and catalogue cleanup
  • Photo guidance and content writing
  • Payment and delivery page setup
  • Training and onboarding for traders
  • Technical support and issue tracking

People who fit the work

Good candidates are comfortable working with small business owners, informal traders and family-run shops. You should be able to explain things in plain language, keep records in order and handle follow-up work with care. A good ear for local trading conditions helps too, whether the customer is in Soweto or by the coast where humidity can affect packaging and product photos.

  • Clear writing and good listening skills
  • Basic confidence with websites and mobile tools
  • Careful work with pricing, images and item descriptions
  • Respect for clients who need practical help and straight answers

How the team works with traders

We support setup that matches how people actually sell. That may include a simple home page, a pricing page, WhatsApp ordering, payment details, delivery notes and a product catalogue that is easy to browse on a phone. We also help with staff training where a shop has more than one person handling orders.

In some cases the work is about making a store easier to manage after it has grown, and in others it is about getting the first version of the site in place with clean photos and clear wording. The job calls for steady communication and a practical eye.

Where the work is based

Our base is in Soweto, Johannesburg, and our support reaches traders in Alexandra, Tembisa and other places across South Africa. Some work is done remotely and some roles need people who can step in on client support, training sessions or content preparation. We stay close to the day-to-day reality of local trade, including load-shedding planning where mains power matters for setup or support work.

How to send your CV

If you want to be considered, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and mention the kind of role you are looking for. If you have worked with informal traders, small shops, online catalogues or customer support before, include that in your message.

There is no need to write a long cover letter. A short note, a CV and a clear sense of the work you want to do is enough for us to review your details properly. If you have training, examples of previous work or experience helping people manage online orders, add that too.

  • Send your CV via the contact form on our site
  • State the role or type of work you are interested in
  • Include any practical experience with stores, content or support
